What Student Loan Companies Are Federal

The products listed here, many or all of them, are from our partners, who pay us. This affects the products we write about as well as the location and arrangement of the products on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. This is our revenue model and a list of our partners.

Start Here: The National Student Loan Database

The first thing that you need to do after you graduate is head over to the National Student Loan Database. This is a great resource that is maintained by the US Department of Education that tracks who services your student loans and the balance of your loans. Given how much can change with your student loans while you’re in school, this can be really helpful to track everything down.

All you have to do to get your information is enter your name, Social Security number, birthday, and pin number. After that, a list of your student loan debt that has been reported to the Department of Education will appear. This list comprises both federal and private student loans.

You should get in touch with your student loan servicer as soon as you find out who they are. This is especially important if your deferment period is almost over and you haven’t received a statement or any other information.

Contact Your Student Loan Servicer

These are the servicers of federally approved student loans, along with their name, address, and phone number. This is the information you require if your loan is with one of these businesses. Read our evaluations of the ones we’ve come across at The College Investor as well.

The Complete List Of Student Loan Debt Collectors is a useful resource if you’re trying to find a student loan debt collector.
